Chapter History

To what may have seemed coincidental at the time, in October of 2013, Cynthia Smith and Judy Hamilton participated in separate out of Darkness' Princess Night Outreaches through the ministry of Frontline Response, formerly Atlanta Dream Center.

Though they both lived in the middle Georgia area, the two had never crossed paths. Yet they individually returned home with like-minded desires to help women, who had found themselves trapped in the commercial sex industry at any point in their lives, find hope - and experience freedom.

While communicating their newfound experiences with others, Cynthia and Judy soon connected Providentially via a mutual friend; which in turn opened the door to a growing number of compassionate men and women experiencing the same stirring of their hears and wanted to support these women in escaping further exploitation as well.

This small but visionary group began meeting fervently in prayer at what may have appeared an unlikely place - a truck stop - seeking the Lord for His will in reaching the exploited.

As a result, Out of Darkness Middle Georgia was launched January 2014, followed by its initial outreach at the very same truck stop, educating truckers how to recognize, prevent and report sex trafficking all across the nation!

Soon thereafter, the second ministry was actualized, Princess Night - ministering to women in and around hotels in the Macon and Warner Robins areas.

Since 2014, Middle Georgia has added:  Jail Ministry, Encounter, Adopt-A-Block, Hotline Volunteers, Education, Speaking Engagements, Church and Individual Partnerships, and Rescues to its involvement again sexual exploitation; and now overjoyed to be opening our new Transitional Home in order to provide greater restoration to these precious women!
